Arrival and welcome

Arrival Days

We have no offical arrival days at AAU Esbjerg.  If you have booked accommodation via our accommodation office, please contact Peter Kringhøj at pk@staff.aau.dk or at +45 9940 7672 to hear, when your room will be ready for moving in and to make arrangements for pick up.

The pick-up service is not available after office hours ( Monday to Friday from 08.00-16.00) or during weekends. If you arrive within these periods, the cheapest way of staying overnight, is at the “Danhostel” Esbjerg. There are also several hotels available near the train station. Our student assistants /students buddy’s will be able to pick you up, the following weekday morning. Just let us know in advance or contact us on the day of arrival by tel. +45 9940 7672.

Friday the 7th of february

Only for non-Danish Eu-citizens needing a Danish CPR-number:

Visit to SIRI in the city of Odense to register for CPR-number. We will provide the transportation and more info will follow.

 

 

Welcome to your first day of study

September 2 2019 is the official first day of study. At 09:00 AM all bachelor students are to meet in the cafeteria, where the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Science, will welcome you to AAU Esbjerg. During the day, you will receive useful information about your studies and the campus. You will be introduced to other members of your project group, as well as the tutor who has been assigned to assist your group, during the first days of study. Later, your semester coordinator will inform you of the studies, and you will spend the rest of the day with your group and the tutor.

From Billund Airport to Esbjerg

Bus no 44 or 144 from Billund to Esbjerg. Further information here:

The fare is approx. DKK 82,00, and the ticket can be purchased (against cash only) on board the bus.

 

from Copenhagen to esbjerg

The train from the airport to Esbjerg departs almost every hour. You can go either directly to Esbjerg or with a change in Fredericia. Tickets can be purchased in the International Terminal at the airport or online at
 

dsb.dk.
 

From Esbjerg station to the university

Bus no. 11 takes you directly to the university and bus no. 1A, 2A, 3B and 4B stops nearby the university. The bus staion is right next to the train station. Taxies are also available right outside the station.

Check list before arriving

  • Order your student card
  • Find your AAU-email address in unistart
  • Bring passport/ID card and a passport size photo for EU-registration (EU citizens)
  • Inform the accommodation office of date and time of arrival
