Access to books, e-books, databases etc.

Project work at AAU is an academic discipline that requires a high level of subject knowledge – and thus access to high quality information resources. Even though Google Scholar and similar services offer excellent possibilities, there are still a huge amount of articles that are available through subscription only. The university library has taken out a vast number of subscriptions on journals, books and databases for you to use free of charge.

    Project assistance

We devote much of our time and resources to assisting students and researchers in finding relevant material. It may be introductory material about a certain subject or perhaps a specific article that you have trouble locating. Also, you can attend our library courses – get more information about the courses at your department:

    Accessing the library

There are different ways for you to access the library:

Your AAU-card is also your library card

When you receive your AAU-card, you can use it for borrowing material at the library as well. Once your AAU-card is activated for library use, you will also be able to access our branch libraries outside regular opening hours.

We have five branch libraries in Aalborg, one in Copenhagen and one in Esbjerg. Here you can get assistance from the staff, you can lie on a couch and read a book, you can print, find a quiet reading spot or something completely different.

You are always welcome at our branch libraries. With continuous improvements we are doing our best to secure that the library is both useful and comfortable. Find our branch libraries here:

Access the library from your arm or deck chair

Via the library’s remote access, you can access most of our electronic resources from any location. Your username and password is the same as the ones you use for IT-start, so you do not even have to be registered as user!
